New Jersey woman aboard fire-ravaged Royal Caribbean cruise recalls moment ... - Fox News

  • May 27, 2013: This photo provided by Royal Caribbean shows the fire-damaged exterior of Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas cruise ship, in Freeport, Bahamas. Royal Caribbean says the fire occurred on the mooring area of Deck 3 about 2:15 a.m., and was quickly extinguished, as the ship was en route to the Bahamas.AP

Linda Harrison wasn't prepared for her husband's early Monday orders during the New Jersey couple's stay aboard the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Grandeur of the Seas.

The cruise ship veterans, who had embarked on 10 or 11 cruises over the years, were in for the ride of a lifetime over the next four hours after Don Harrison ordered his wife to 'get up,' Philly.com reports.

'I jumped up, threw on a robe; we grabbed everything in the safe and life jackets and went to our muster station,' she said late Tuesday, a day after the cruise ship caught fire in the middle of the Caribbean.

The cause of the fire was not yet clear, cruise officials said Tuesday, as passengers returned to Baltimore on charter flights from the Bahamas, with many praising the response of the company and crew.

Linda Harrison said the crew and the captain remained very calm as passengers waitedcat emergency locations onboard.

'All the crew kept telling us was there's nothing to worry about, all just a little fire,' she told the newspaper. 'They actually made it sound like it was a cabin fire.'

The fire began at 2:50 a.m. Monday and was extinguished roughly two hours later, with no injuries reported. Photos depicted a substantial area of the stern burned on several decks of the ship the length of about three football fields.

At first, Linda Harrison tried keeping her 28-year-old daughter calm, but then she noticed lifeboats were being lowered.

'I thought I was going to throw up,' she said. 'I could no longer console her because I needed someone to console me.'

Ultimately, the lifeboats were not needed and passengers were allowed to return to their cabins. The Harrisons then got a few hours of sleep before spending the day in Freeport, Bahamas. While walking along the pier on the island, Harrison finally got a glimpse of the damage.

'When we saw that, I'm telling you, my heart dropped,' she said.

Like other passengers on the ship, the Harrisons learned that Royal Caribbean would refund their cruise cost and give them another trip free of charge. The cruise line also paid for their flight home.

Although the event 'dampened' the experience, Linda Harrison said she wouldn't rule out a return to the high seas.

'We got four wonderful days,' she said.

Guardian Backpack Color: Blue/Grey Recent Reviews

Guardian Backpack Color: Blue/Grey Recent Reviews
This bag is great! It's high quality, and the alarm is LOUD!!! Do not use alarm in the This might seem obvious to some, but we tested it in our house just because I didn't want to freak out the neighbors and it was very painful to the My 9 year old is walking home from school for the first time this year, and this is just a little extra Of course, it's no substitute for "stranger danger" talks, but even double the price would be well worth it for this We've had no instances of the bag accidentally going off and have not yet had to replace Just for an idea I told my son not to tell anyone what his bag does to avoid any curious kids wanting to pull the When kids asked what the speakers on the bag are for, he told them it's to connect his He doesn't actually have an ipod, but that took care of the ;)
- Regular Amazon Shopper

This backpack is nice quality, and sturdy enough for my 7 year old It is cool colors and a good The sound of the alarms is deafening!!! That thing is loud! I feel safer knowing it is in case he needs

Carter's 5 Piece Diaper Bag Set - Black/Sage Customer Reviews

Carter's 5 Piece Diaper Bag Set - Black/Sage Customer Reviews
I bought it without letting my boyfriend know. And when we received it, he was so excited:) It's exactly what we wanted. It's perfect for a boy or a girl since we don't know what we are having, we thought it'd be the best. We love that it has 2 bags so when the baby stays over night with it's grandparents, we can put more clothes or extra items in it. And I figured the littler bag would be ideal for going into stores or taking trips, that way we are carrying a huge diaper bag at all times. I would definitely recommend it to anyone else!
- Tiffany Goetz

I love this bag! However, the material seems extremely flimsy. The bags cannot stand on their own because of the light material. I love the accessory pouch but wished it had a connection so I could wear it as a wristlet.
- Nancy Livingston

I originally purchased this set for my partner to use with our daughter because I didn't want him to have to carry a pink diaper bag. I must say, after receiving the bags I will also be using them. I love the simplicity of them. I am actually thinking of purchasing one for my partner's boss as one of her shower gifts because it has everything that you need in a diaper bag set- changing mat, bottle storage bag, and even a smaller bag for lighter trips or daily strolls.
- Joanna

i am a third time mom and i've had my share of diaper bags. i thought this might be good having the smaller bag for short trips and i liked the look of them. the picture makes the bags look leathery but they are nylon and flimsy. the bottom has a cardboard insert covered by the nylon material that is removable and is easily bendable. the description says the main compartment is roomy with storage compartments...not true. it's open space and there are NO pockets on the inside of either bag. the only pockets are 4 on the outside of both bags, two on front and two on sides. there are elastic bands on the inside corners i suppose to hold bottles or sippy cups...i would not use them for that because it would be a hassle to force them in the bands, especially when the bag would be full of all other items. i like to compartmentalize my baby's things like medicine, extra clothes with socks/accessories, toys, food items, etc so the open space in the bag would make me want to store those items in a smaller bag for each group and THEN put those bags in the diaper bag. so for me i don't like not having the option of pockets on the inside of my diaper bag. kind of defeats the purpose. also, there's no pocket with a zipper so i could not store items that i definitely can't afford to be misplaced or fall out (one of my sons has a nut allergy so i always carry medicine in the diaper bag for him). these bags look nice but for someone like me who knows what they want and didn't have a very truthful description to go by, i would not recommend this set. i received this set as a gift and i have not used them. just by looking at them, i know that i will not like them for the reasons stated above.on a positive note: the large bag is big enough for my newborn's things and extra clothes for my potty training toddler. the main compartment does have a zip top which i like and the green color is nice. the changing pad is thin but i would use it cause the baby is only on it for a minute. the pad is also lined with clear plastic on one side which is cold for the baby but nice when you have to wipe off messes. i breastfeed my kids so the extra bottle holder does me no good...would maybe use it for my toddler's sippy. the clear dirty diaper holder is a fun thought but most times i can find a trash can. and it doesn't zip or close completely and is permanently attached to the inside of the large bag. i don't want to keep a dirty diaper inside my bag and i don't want a dirty diaper to hang on the outside of my bag for all to see and smell.overall, i thought these would be nice for the price to get two bags, but ultimately they are not going to work for me. hope this helped all you looking for a good, dependable bag!
- Matty Hester

I just received this diaper bag today and I am totally in love with it. Very neutral for both me and my husband (he was worried about me purchasing a diaper bag that was too girly). The bigger bag is really roomy and the smaller one will be perfect for quick outings with our baby. Also, the color is great since we don't know what we are having. Cannot wait to try this with my little one!
- ani22

Great Price. The bags look really nice and have a lot of room. Wish the bigger one had more pockets but it will work. Cannot beat price for the product.
- Lisette

For some reason I thought this had interior pockets. I may end up buying something to put inside to make compartments. The bag is big, which is why I bought it, but things can easily get lost in it.
- Michelle P.

Love this set! I mostly use the small bag because I hate big diaper bags. But the big one is really nice for going on trips when we will be gone all day. Very well made bags. Highly recommend.
- John "Teacher and mom of 2 kids, Lila-4 and J...

I was planning to return this set based on the reviews that I read AFTER ordering. I absolutely love this set. It is beautiful and matches my car seat. It's not flimsy and cheap looking at ALL! I am glad that, for THIS purchase, I chose to see for myself.
- Sheila Anderson

I love the diaper bag set, but I am not picky when it comes to accessories. This diaper bag set is very affordable and I love the diaper changing pad. It's easy to wipe down and clean. The inside is also very easy to clean and wipe down, since it's not an absorbant material. I don't use the small bag as much, but the large bag is a great size. There aren't any pockets in the inside, which I would like. It'd be nice if there was a divider or something, but you get what you pay for. The colors match my stroller, so I am happy. This would be great for a gender neutral mom.

Observations from Detroit Red Wings' Game 5 Loss to Chicago Blackhawks - Yahoo! Sports

COMMENTARY | The Detroit Red Wings knew it would be tough to eliminate the best team in the Western Conference, and Chicago made sure it wouldn't happen in Game 5.

The Chicago Blackhawks avoided elimination on Saturday, May 25 with a 4-1 win against the Red Wings. The Game 5 Blackhawks looked a lot like the Game 1 Blackhawks, the same Blackhawks that got at least a point in 24 straight games, and the same Blackhawks that won the Presidents' Trophy.

Red Wings came out tentative

With all of the pressure on the Blackhawks to extend the series, they came out with energy and were physical with the Red Wings, who came out playing like they didn't want to lose rather than playing like they wanted to win.

This isn't something new. The Red Wings have had slow starts in this series before, but they managed to regroup and get better as the game went on.

They didn't do that in Game 5. The Blackhawks wanted it more, and the Red Wings had no answer.

With a 3-1 series lead, the Red Wings needed to put the pressure on the Blackhawks and play like they had in Games 2, 3 and 4. The Red Wings had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Blackhawks outshot Red Wings by wide margin

Just like in the Game 1 win, the Blackhawks peppered Jimmy Howard, and outshot the Red Wings by a wide margin.

Howard has proven himself in these playoffs, but if you get 40+ shots on net, odds are some of those are going to go in.

Not to mention three of the four goals weren't Howard's fault. Bryan Bickell's goal was a third-chance opportunity, Andrew Shaw deflected in a point shot and Jonathan Toews' goal went off Howard's mask.

The only goal I can blame Howard for is Shaw's second goal, which made the score 4-1. Viktor Stalberg took a shot from the slot and Shaw picked up the rebound from behind the net and slid it past Howard.

The reason I blame Howard is because he looked like he had given up on the play thinking the shot went up into the netting and the whistle would be blown.

Howard knows better than to give up on a play, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Two failed clears lead to two power-play goals

The Red Wings had shut down the Blackhawks' power play after Game 1. Chicago was 1 of 12 with the man advantage until they scored two power-play goals in Game 5.

Both power-play goals happened because the Red Wings failed to clear the puck out of the zone. Instead of taking time to make sure they had an open lane to shoot the puck out, they just blindly whacked at the puck and Chicago managed to keep it in the zone and take advantage.

The Red Wings knew winning that fourth straight game against a desperate Blackhawks team wasn't going to be easy. The Blackhawks are too talented and have too much depth.

However, the Red Wings will have a big bounce-back game in Game 6. Detroit has too much pride and too much heart to let the Blackhawks back into this series.

The Red Wings will come back to a rowdy crowd at Joe Louis Arena and end the series.

Stephen Joseph Girls 2-6x Quilted Backpack Flower,Lime Green/Hot Pink,One Size User Reviews
We got this backpack for our daughter so she could carry her few things she needed, she was 3 at the time. She loves it and it fits her really well with room to grow in the straps. I can fit a change of clothes, pull-up and cup in it plus a few more things. Nice and roomy, we've had it for a little over a year and there is no sign of seams ripping or any falling apart. Bright colors and easy for her to open and clothes with the magnetic snap.
- Craig Comstock

Love the colors! The size is perfect for my 2 year old daughter which is who I bought it for. The adjusting straps could have one or more sizes but overall it seems sturdy and the inside seems easy to clean should there be any spills.
- dizzy1214

Love this backpack. I bought it for my granddaughter's birthday so she has not seen it yet. It's a good size for a modest girl. The colors are splendid and it looks like it is made well.
- Kathleen A. Thorpe

The product was nice a bit pricy found it at another store cheaper. When I needed to return the item it was not an easy task. They did not respond to any emails so I had to request a credit from Amazon Services. Buyer Beware!
- Chantalle Phillips

this is fun and cute backpack, but it needs a zipper asit is for little kids, who can not care about their things the sameway as adults

Memorial Day: An evolved observance of America's fallen heroes - CBS News

Two days before Memorial Day weekend festivities officially kicked off, a cluster of war veterans donning lime green "Honor Flight" T-shirts filed down a narrow pathway at Arlington National Cemetery toward the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

A supervisor whispered instructions to a group of students heading back from watching the changing of the guard: "Make sure to shake their hands and thank them." The students, as they passed, dutifully shook each hand, save for those at the helm of their fellow heroes' wheelchairs. "Thank you for your service," some said, and the veterans - donning various ribbons and insignia on their caps and sporting on their shirt-backs the names of their respective wars - reciprocated with big smiles and high-fives.

The veterans' trip had nothing to do with Memorial Day; the non-profit Honor Flight Networkschedules toursvirtually year-round, to give them a chance to visit their memorials. And in fact, Memorial Day, by definition, is a federal holiday set aside to acknowledge exclusively the servicemen and women who have fallen in the line of duty - not to be confused with Veterans Day, which honors all members, both living and dead, who served with the United States military.

Still, longstanding traditions on the last Monday of May and the days leading up to it propel to the forefront of a nation's conscious acts of sacrifice and honor often lost at the summer's cusp among barbecues and swimming pool openings. And for acting service members, Command Sgt. Maj. Phillip Cantrell, Regimental Sgt. Major of the Old Guard's 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, told CBS News, the fruits of those traditions offer them "the greatest sense of pride and honor to be an American."

"Memorial Day is best described as the words inscribed on this monument," Cantrell said, standing in Arlington National Cemetery - the birthplace of Memorial Day - before the Confederate Memorial. "'Not for fame or reward; not for place or for rank; not lured by ambition or goaded by necessity; but in simple obedience to duty, as they understood it. These men suffered all, sacrificed all, dared all, and died.'"

The Confederate Memorial was built in 1901 - 36 years after the end of the Civil War and 33 after Gen. John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, ordered in 1868 that the tombstones of Union soldiers be decorated every May 30 as a way to remember those who had fallen in the war. Still aching from the loss of war, and salt in the wound from the government's decision to designate Arlington - which housed the plantation of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee - as the war's official cemetery, Southern states ignored the holiday for decades.

After World War I, Cantrell explained, "when it was recognized there was a need to tie the two together to mend the bonds, it was determined that we would recognize all service members. In 1901 they built [the Confederate Memorial] and allowed the Confederate soldiers' families to come in and decorate the graves the same as the Union soldiers' families had."

To carry on that custom, the Old Guard, "about 40 years ago," Cantrell said, began to place American flags before the headstone of every grave in Arlington Cemetery - an annual undertaking the Thursday before Memorial Day known as "flags-in" that rolls out in five phases: Planning, preparation, execution, maintenance and recovery.

Timi & leslie Marie Antoinette II Diaper Bag, Silver Purchaser Reviews

Timi & leslie Marie Antoinette II Diaper Bag, Silver Purchaser Reviews
This bag arrived quickly and well-packed. Upon opening, I was tickled to see that it looks even better in person. The bag is very large, and I know I'll never want for more pockets to put equipment! I'm now using it as a "hold everything" tote even as I get equipped for the birth of my second child. In succession almost with this bag is a breeze! It's frivolous, can fit everything I need to involve almost including a 17" mainframe and a large accordion folder, and everything my four year old needs (superfluous juice boxes, jacket, superfluous change of clothes, etc). The straps are very comfortable on the shoulders, which is a nice change from the mean straps on the Storksak I bought for my at the start diaper bag four being ago. Man, did that business BITE! All in all, I'm in love with this bag. Can't wait to use it to its full potential, and I know I'll use it long with my need to involve a varying pad expires.
- evaundone

With my second baby I was on the hunt for the best diaper bag on the market and this was the winner! Lightweight, washable, adorable matching wristlet for mommy to pull out when you want to run into a store without the whole bag, strolller/cart straps to hang the bag at the level of the handles securely, great storage, changing pad, bottle case, dirty laundry bag and best of all... cute enough to be a tote when you're finished being a diaper bag mommy!
- lumalu22

I love this bag! Its huge so you can hold a ton of stuff. I love how they give you all these accessories! I especially like the stroller straps, the wristlet (I now use this as my wallet, keys, and chapstick holder) and the pouch for clothes. The only thing I think that can be improved is the changing mat and maybe the addition of a wipes case. Its lightweight (before you put in everything) and has lots of pockets that are so useful and make organization a breeze.
- jyny

This is my 2nd diaper bag I've purchased but have looked for years for friends as well as myself. My mom bought this for me and it was such an amazing gift! Light weight, nylon material makes it easy to fit anywhere, wipes off easy, bottle holders on the outside are wonderful, compartments help me keep the diapers and wipes on the side and keep the bag organized. My husband doesn't mind carrying it. Top is open with just a magnetic closure. If I had to complain I guess I would say it stays open when packed full. I just put a receiving blanket over everything to hide it if I need to. When it's on the stroller it stays together and when I out it down it stays up right. Also all the accessories are wonderful! It is costly but I have loved it so much! Highly recommend!
- Mother of two

This bag holds so much stuff and has many compartments to keep it as organized as possible. I love the stroller hooks and the size. It's super stylish too!
- AquaMomma

i love this diaper bag, fits a lot, looks great and lots of compartments to help stay organized!!! mine had a lot of different bags inside too and i still use them even though my daughter is already over 2 years old!
- G. Wu

I've owned and used countless diaper bags (everything from Kate Spade to OiOi to Skip Hop to Vera Bradley) and I can, with confidence, say that this bag is the best for so many reasons. I have a four year old, a two year old, and a ten month old and this bag makes my life easier. Here are the benefits to this bag:*the strap length is perfect and the straps are very comfortable, and pretty*the bag comes with stroller straps, a messenger strap, a changing pad, a bottle cooler, a beautiful clutch that can double as a wallet (perfect for grabbing when that is all you need)*it isn't bulky when full so it lays nicely while carrying it*it has a key clip so there is no digging for keys*the two outside, side pockets are handy*there are a lot of inside pockets to keep you organized, including two bottle/sippy cup pockets to prevent leaks*the bag holds a TON without looking too big*the bag has such a beautiful look and sheen to it, it almost shimmers in the sun*this bag can be used when out with friends without kids and long after diapers, so it doubles as a purse and diaper bag, getting more for your money*the interior and exterior are wipe able making it easy to clean*the tops opens really wide so it is really easy to find what you are looking for and it also makes it really easy to throw items inside when you are in a hurry, and you can do so one handed*the top closes with a magnetic closure so you don't need to hassle with a zipper, a zipper closure isn't necessary on this bag due to the shape (I've never had problems with items falling out)*the company, Timi and Leslie, provide a one year warranty and are a very customer friendly company (I've had no problems with this bag, but when dealing with the company with other Timi and Leslie bags I've owned they've been incredible)*Lastly, but most important, this bag is LIGHTWEIGHT, without comprising on the look of the bag.As you can see, I highly recommend this bag. You will not be disappointed in this purchase!
- sctr

I searched and searched for the perfect diaper bag. I even sent 3 back after getting them in the mail I was so being so picky. I found this bag and decided it was the one. When it came I was pleased but not blown away by the bag. It seemed roomy, looks stylish and I do get tons and tons of compliments on it. But it has its flaws and they annoy the heck out of me as I use it more and more (baby is 3 months old now). Here are this bag's pros and cons:Pros:-Looks like a high end bag and is made with quality products and a sound construction, which is to be expected for the price. It is also gender neutral and baby neutral. I could total use this bag in the future for a non-baby related use, so that is a big bonus. My diaper bags for my last two children featured baby ducks, elephants and were just plain embarrassing. This one is so much better.-Nice extra's like the stroller straps, bottle holder, matching mini-purse and cross body straps.-The bag has several different pockets to help keep you organizedCons:-I hate hate hate the closure on this diaper bag. It is the open to that just has magnetic snaps to keep the contents of this bag from spilling out. I have unknowingly left vital things in the car just by them falling out of the bag. You know, things like wipes, binkies and diapers. It is frustrating and makes me really wish I had a diaper bag that had a better way of closing.-Though the bag seems roomy, once you pack a the essential baby items, it is suddenly overflowing. Right now it is filled to the brim and I have a changing pad, five size 1 diapers, a small container of wipes, a receiving blanket, burp rag, nursing cover and change of clothes in it. That isn't a lot and I don't even need to carry things like bottles, food and toys yet. I am really going to be having problems with every thing spilling out then. The bottom line is look at this bag in person before buying. If you will be lugging around formula, bottles, water and stuff like that I may go with a different style, just due to the room issue. I really settled for this one just because I didn't want to mess with sending yet another bag back when I was due to have my baby any day. I will continue using it but wouldn't buy it over again if I could go back in time.
- Allison Jones

I saw this bag on a woman in a baby store, and fell in love! It doesn't look like a diaper which was ideal. This bag can fit a LOT and has enough side compartments that I won't spend too much time digging around looking for "missiing" items. The grey is a great color. I would hihly recommend this bag as you can use it as a regular bag once you are no longer carting around diapers, wipes, etc.
- Brandan Wilburn "shugahoney"

I finally broke down and paid more for a handbag style diaper bag. So worth it! I love how light weight and versatile this bag is. I really like the little clutch that comes with it and use it way more than I thought I would. I get compliments all the time and I can see using this one way beyond the baby stage.

Peanuts Woodstock Kids Size Backpack Review
My daughter is home schooled, but she still needed something to haul her lessons in when we travel, and this is perfect. She really loves it. We looked around online and amazon had the best price. Everyday she watched to see if it arrived, and when it did, she was thrilled. Sometimes she just carries her stuffed animals or dolls in it, but she definitely uses it. We were first looking for Snoopy, but then she liked this one better. thanks again amazon.

Tribe One OP Series MiniNet Shock Cord Backpack Net with PackTach System (Olive Drab Hub/Desert Tan Shock Cord) Review

Tribe One OP Series MiniNet Shock Cord Backpack Net with PackTach System (Olive Drab Hub/Desert Tan Shock Cord) Review
First off let me say that I am always looking for new gear when it comes to being in the outdoors, so trying out this product was a no brainier. I heard about this product from a friend of mine who saw it and an outdoor expo this year. Long story short I started out with the OP Series MiniNet. Essentially this is a cargo net for you pack, however the way it connects to your pack is the where the real magic is. The PackTach! The concept is so simple but I was amazed at how useful it was. Essentially it allowed me to have hooking points on my back the the net hooks to. I keep this thing on my pack even when I do not have gear in it. I have held everything from rain gear to cloths and even books. But one of the best things about it is the PackTach component is so useful for hooking other things to as well. The bottom line is that the OP Series MiniNet is a very useful inexpensive solution for holding gear on your pack. I liked this product so much I purchased the larger version for my full size backpack which is an even more useful product, but I will save that review for another time. I highly recommend this product and to date I have found no issues with it. Oh and one other thing. I found out the product has a lifetime warranty on it, so if it ever breaks and you send it back and they will send you a new one no questions asked.Rick

Have you ever opened your gym bag and realized you forgot to take your smelly shoes out of the bag when you got home? Maybe you left a moldy wet towel in your day pack after an exciting time at the lake? Or worst of all, has your teens backpack been so full of waded up paper and graffiti filled text books that they actually had to carry something in their hands. The OP Series MiniNetTM is the perfect add on to any backpack, duffle bag, carry-on baggage and more. The MiniNetTM is a simple solution for getting a little extra out of your everyday bag.

The TribeOne PackTachTM is a truly unique system that allows the user to create a hooking point at any location on a backpack, duffle bag, daypack, tent, tarp, or any material of comparable thickness. UFC 160 Prelims: Mike Pyle Survives Rick Story Onslaught, Grabs Split Decision - Sherdog.com

MikePyle rallied to upset Rick Story at UFC 160. | Donald Miralle/ZuffaLLC/Getty Images

RickStory was perhaps one punch away from stopping Mike Pyle, buthis inability to finish the job came back to haunt him.

Pyle (25-8-1, 8-3 UFC) rode his treacherous guard and a one-sidedthird round to a split decision over Story at UFC160 'Velasquez vs. Bigfoot 2' on Saturday at the MGM GrandGarden Arena in Las Vegas. All three cageside judges saw it 29-28,two of them giving the nod to Pyle. The 37-year-old former WorldExtreme Cagefighting champion has won his last four fights.

Story (15-7, 8-5 UFC) nearly made quick work of the Dresden, Tenn.,native, as he floored him with a wicked straight left in the firstround and swarmed with punches from above. A badly dazed Pylesomehow weathered the onslaught, forced the Brave Legion exportdeeper into the fight and slowly drained his gas tank. He made hismove in round three, where he attacked a fading Story with a seriesof standing elbows and almost locked up a late armbar.

Bermudez Ekes Out Split Verdict Over Holloway'The Ultimate Fighter' Season 14 finalist DennisBermudez edged MaxHolloway by controversial split decision in an undercard duelat 145 pounds. All three cageside judges scored it 29-28, two ofthem siding with Bermudez (11-3, 4-1 UFC).

Holloway (7-2, 3-2 UFC) controlled a good portion of the opening 10minutes with his superior standup and excellent takedown defense, rattling his foe with a spinning back kick to the face in the firstround. Bermudez turned the tide with a strong showing in roundthree, where he grounded the Hawaiian with takedowns and grinded onhim with elbows from top position, leaving visible damage on the21-year-old Hawaiian's face.

Bermudez has won four straight.

Whittaker Bounces Fellow 'Ultimate Fighter' Winner Smith'The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes' winner RobertWhittaker dispatched ColtonSmith with a clean left hook and follow-up ground strikes in apreliminary welterweight contest. Whittaker (11-2, 2-0 UFC) drewthe curtain 41 seconds into round three, as he posted his fourthwin in five appearances.

A wrestler by trade, Smith (3-2, 1-1 UFC) never got his takedowngame in gear. Whittaker weathered a first-round knockdown, peckedaway from the perimeter and landed in combination, moving forwardand backward. Smith slowly wilted under the punishment and hadlittle left in the tank at the start of the final round. Less thana minute in, Whittaker planted him on his backside with a beautifulleft hook and finished it soon after.

Nurmagomedov scored a record 21 takedowns.

Nurmagomedov Moves to 20-0KhabibNurmagomedov kept his perfect MMA record intact, as he procureda unanimous decision over Blackzilians representative AbelTrujillo in a one-sided undercard matchup at 155 pounds.Nurmagomedov (20-0, 4-0 UFC) swept the scorecards by identical30-27 scores.

Trujillo (10-5, 1-1 UFC), who entered the cage on the strength of afive-fight winning streak, never had a chance. Nurmagomedovoverwhelmed the 29-year-old Greensboro, N.C., native with a seriesof takedowns, many of them from the rear waistlock position.

The undefeated Russian threatened with submissions throughout thefirst round, and Trujillo's situation only grew direr fromthere.

'Wonderboy' Thompson Decisions BurrellFive-time world kickboxing champion StephenThompson rebounded from his first professional defeat with aunanimous verdict over Nah-ShonBurrell in an undercard clash at 170 pounds. All three judgesstruck the decision for Thompson (7-1, 2-1 UFC): 29-28, 30-27 and29-28.

A replacement for the injured AmirSadollah, Burrell (9-3, 1-1 UFC) was stymied by repeatedclinches from the South Carolinian. Thompson engaged the Strikeforceimport in close quarters and controlled much of the fight along thefence. Burrell did his best work in the third round, where he spunaround a fatigued Thompson with a left hook and attacked with aseries of knees to the midsection. However, the finish he needednever materialized.

Roop Spoils Bowles' Return'The Ultimate Fighter' Season 8 semifinalist George Roopstopped former World Extreme Cagefighting champion BrianBowles on second-round punches in a preliminary bantamweightaffair. Appearing for the first time since November 2011, Bowles(10-3, 2-2 UFC) succumbed to the blows 1:43 into round two.

Roop (14-9-1, 4-5 UFC) endured some difficulty in the first round.Bowles staggered him with a right hand behind the ear, dropped himwith another and later threatened the ApexMMA representative with a mounted guillotine choke. Roopsurvived and pushed the match to a second round. There, he broughtdown Bowles with a stinging straight left and finished him with aseries of unanswered punches on the ground.

Stephens Bloodies, Outpoints PayanTakedowns, ground-and-pound and a heavy dose of leg kicks carriedJeremyStephens to a unanimous decision over Arizona Combat Sports export EstevanPayan in a gory undercard match at 145 pounds. All threecageside judges scored it for Stephens (21-9, 8-8 UFC): 30-26(twice) and 30-27.

The blood spilled by Payan (14-4, 0-1 UFC) after he absorbed afirst-round elbow from Stephens was the story. It was everywhere --in puddles. Stephens kept the Arizonan off-balance with repeatedkicks to the legs, a smattering of right hands and a series ofwell-timed takedowns. With that, the 26-year-old Alliance MMA representative put an end to the first three-fightlosing streak of his career.

GUESS Travel Waldorf Business Backpack (Black) Review

GUESS Travel Waldorf Business Backpack (Black) Review
I have searched high and low for a business backpack that I can use as a sort of mobile office since I work about 50% of the time from home. This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for!First of all the quality is top of the line. The backpack is composed of a very thick, durable, and professional looking vinyl/canvas-like material with heavy duty zippers. The back of the backpack has extra breathable cushioning in the lumbar and shoulder areas as well as on the straps. One thing I hated about my old case is that it would topple over if I set it down. This bag alleviates that problem because it has 4 thick rubber pads on the bottom and it is square enough that when filled does not topple. Now, the inside is the best part. This bag has such a smart design it is able to provide a ton of storage space without causing the backpack to be bulky. One of my favorite features is a built-in canvas expandable file folder which is just perfect for separating different projects or reference materials when traveling back and forth to the office. In total, there is extra storage in the pocket where the laptop is kept, a compartment with the expanding file folders as well as a zippered compartment in that area, another compartment for pens, mobile devices, etc. with lots of pockets and a mesh zippered area inside. There is even a small pocket on the back of the bag and two small pockets on the front. There is also an expander zipper which increases the storage width by about 2 inches.Hands down, this is a great quality bag and an ideal design for business or personal use.

Puppy Backpack Review

Puppy Backpack Review
My 4 year old niece is really into puppies. She LOVED this gift. It is so cute! The puppy head is the size of a dog's head, so it is not too big, but big enough to hold the books that are included in the box or any little treasures that preschool kids love to tote around. This would be a good gift for a 3-5 year old girl or boy. And the price is right!
- Road Runner

Here’s one cuddly puppy, with a brown patch over one eye, a red tongue to give a friendly lick, and stories to read. And the hero of all the tales in his pack is a doggie, too—named Rustie. This little pup learns how to swim; goes off on a big adventure and almost gets lost…until some kind frogs help him get home; and makes friends with two reluctant kittens when he fetches their ball from the river.

Zosephine The Seattle Diaper Bag Recent Reviews

Zosephine The Seattle Diaper Bag Recent Reviews
I was sitting with my kids in an ice cream parlor and a woman entered with this great bag. Normally I do not accost strangers, but I had to know who made this bag. Turns out it was a local company, Zosephine, founded by woman who designs the fabrics and bag styles. Though not in need of a diaper bag, it was the only style I could find so I bought one anyway. I use if for everything! My laptop, regular purse stuff, and those random sherpa duties requested by the kids (game boys etc.,). Very cool. I hope to see more bags in the future.
- Kristen N. Oberry

I don't have any children, but I use one of these bags (the Seattle one) for when I go swimming at the pool or beach - with it's waterproof interior it's practical and it looks good. I love it! I have the largest size and it's big enough to fit everything for a day out, or for a weekend away. I don't use it as my day-to-day purse because it's too big. I also gave one of these (the Kyoto one) to my sister-in-law who bikes to work and swims every morning before work, and she finds it perfect - easy to bike with, fits all her swimming stuff and respectable for the workplace.
- A. Narrain

I love this diaper bag!!!! I have The Kyoto one and use it all the time. It is very durable and has lots and lots of pockets.....great for seperating snacks from medicine! It also has pockets that the little ones can't get into as easily...this comes in handy for hiding a little extra cash or cell phone. The inside wipes out easily if you have spills and the outside looks fashionable but also holds up well!!
- Bethany Smith

Love this diaper bag! It doesn't hold as much as my previous one, but that is actually turning out to be more of a plus than a negative because I can find things a lot easier. My favorite feature is the cell phone holder in the front. My phone fits perfectly and it makes it so easy to grab while on the go. Very comfortable strap and great design. I went to the grocery yesterday and a couple of people commented about how cute my "purse" was. Love that it doesn't look like a diaper bag!
- TMSnyder

this bag is great. feels right on the shoulder, has lots of pockets and special compartments to stuff things in, holds the million things moms haul around all day, looks classy enough to go with a black dress but cool enough for everyday outfits.I got mine from a French girlfriend , now buy it for my friends when they have a new born. I like to think it helps them feel as i did when i unwrapped my bag : while a practical gift to accommodate my baby's needs, my legendary care for style and femininity had not been overlooked...And i really liked that!
- Aurelie Moulin "poupidou"

I have this bag in the light blue pattern and always receive so many compliments. I did not purchase it as a diaper bag, so it is very versatile. I carry it as my handbag. It is stylish, yet can hold so much, even snacks, toys or a light change of clothes for my 3 year old. It's very durable, I can't say enough about it! I'm going to purchase another!
- Mrs. Janis M. Tripp

I have a Zosephine diaper bag (Kyoto) and I love the bag so much that when my children grew out of diapers I just kept using it as a purse. I've also given many as gifts and the receivers all rave about the bag. Zosephine products are sturdy and stylish at the same time which is how I'd like someone to describe me!
- Susan Davis "the blind eve"

I wanted to love this bag. I loved the simplicity of the design and the size looked perfect from the dimensions given online. I have been searching for a messenger style diaper bag but this one didn't work for me and I'm sharing so maybe it can help someone else who is also in the hunt for the perfect diaper bag.- The strap is cloth and is always getting tangled up and twisted. For such an expensive bag I would expect a nicer strap, but it is just a simple piece of canvas and also the color is deceiving in the Amazon picture. It looks like a creamy white, but it is actually a very light pink, which to me looks like you washed the bag and the red part bled onto it.- The interior is lined with a very stiff, thick vinyl. It is nice b/c you can wipe it out easily and it is white so you can see things, but it gets dirty very easily, shows everything and I already have several scuff marks that won't come off. Also the majority of your bag is taken up by the two cup holders which are on the inside and once you put two bottles, or a sippy cup/bottle in them half your bag is gone. There was barely room for the changing pad, diapers, and wipes. There are three small pockets along the inside, but they are seriously big enough for my small garage opener and they are so narrow and deep that once you put something in there it is seriously wedged in there. There is a divider in this bag and if you put anything in the one side then it really bulks the bag out because you are using space from the other side and because of the fabric and lining there is no give. As for other pockets, there is a cell phone pocket which is nice and in a convenient spot, and then a "paperback" pocket. The paperback pocket is too small for a paperback, but it did fit my wallet and maybe over time it would stretch out to fit a book.Once the pockets are filled, or really even half of the pockets are filled, the bag gets very bulky and the flap will not close all the way.As you can tell I was frustrated by this bag. I wanted to like this bag and it had 5 star reviews from everyone who used it. I was surprised no one had noted any of the things I noticed and so I hope my review helps you. I still gave it to two stars b/c I really like the design, it had a nice key clip, and it could work as a purse for someone.
- Adrianne Kerr

I ordered this bag in the Minneapolis (orange) color - it is deeper and more "burnt" orange than I expected, which is a huge plus. It looks like a nice messenger bag I'd buy for work, and the floral straps and "window" add a bit of femininity (which is also nice since I live in an area where everyone seems to carry a boring old gender neutral black or tan messenger). However, the organization is a bit lacking. The cell phone pocket on the outside is nice, but you need to open the flap to get to it; it would be nicer if it was on the side or back of the bag. It would also be nice if was a bit roomier and a bit deeper. The zip pocket on the back of the bag would fit a very small book; I wish it was deeper and extended the length of the back of the bag so it could fit larger items. There are two sippy pockets inside, which I love. There are three rather useless tiny pockets inside, which are too small to fit diapers or wipes - I wish instead of three pockets, there were two larger pockets to fit diapers. And there is a large open pocket but it does not close with velcro or snap. There is a zip pocket too, but again, I wish it was larger to fit larger wallets or perhaps a change of clothes. The interior is a cream heavy duty nylon - while I appreciate the lighter color interior, I wish it wasn't quite so light (like tan or periwinkle blue instead) so not every single drop of apple juice might show up. I also wish there were D-rings for attaching to stroller, though it does drape OK off stroller handles. Overall it is a gorgeous bag, just needs bigger pockets overall and a bit more functional organization. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars as a work bag but 3 1/2 as a diaper, which averages out to 4.
- SunsetDweller

I really wanted to love this bag. It fits my style perfectly. However, when I was packing just for the hospital, I couldn't fit anything!! I had put 2 diapers, a wipe case, changing pad, receiving blanket and another blanket (which isn't big by any means) and couldn't even fit in the take home outfits!! I'm looking up how to exchange it and will probably get a SkipHop bag.
- Carrie Stone "Carrie"

  • Pocket is hidden under the flap (above), and a pocket big enough for a small novel can be found on the back
  • Nylon changing pad
  • Sleek, modern styling, and holds everything a hip mama needs for baby
  • Plenty of pockets
  • Easy-to-clean nylon lining

My daughter absolutely love this. The quality is excellent from the sturdy handles to the interior. I highly recommend this.

I bought this suitcase for my little one before a trip to New York City. It held a ton of stuff for him; books diapers, changes of clothes, and the internal zip pocket is very durable. The suitcase is also very durable. My guy is around 27lb and he has jumped inside and sat inside of this suitcase, and the durability is outstanding. I would buy this for anyone's little one. Definitely worth the price. I guess my Dad was always right; "you get what you pay for!"

Sizable Indiana Pacers exploiting possible Miami Heat weakness - MiamiHerald.com

For three years, the Heat has tried to disprove the belief that it's vulnerable against big, physical front lines with offensively skilled post players.

But Miami has done nothing to refute that perception in this series, and that ' combined with unusual Heat offensive inefficiency late in the game and some splendid work from Paul George and George Hill ' proved to be the Heat's undoing in Game 2.

Roy Hibbert and David West combined for 42 points and 17 rebounds and spent as much time on the free-throw line as winter tourists spend on South Florida beaches.

Both made big plays in the fourth. Hibbert had two baskets, and West hit a turnaround in the paint to break a tie with 1:59 left and then grabbed a LeBron James turnover with 42 seconds remaining.

And the Pacers' power players got considerable help from George (22 points) and Hill, whose 18 points included two free throws with 48 seconds left and two with eight seconds to go, accounting for the final four points of the game.

'This whole team is just showing great desire and heart and belief,' Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. 'They believe they can win this series, and they're giving it all their might. They're rising to the challenge. I'm very, very proud of them. We look like a true team.'

Hibbert shot only 13 for 34 against the Heat in three regular games, but he has been far more efficient in this series against several defenders ' Chris Bosh, Udonis Haslem, Chris Andersen and, briefly, Joel Anthony.

After shooting 9 for 18 in Game 1, Hibbert shot 10 for 15, doing all of his damage in the paint, including hook shots, dunks and layups. And he shot 9 for 10 from the line. Unlike Game 1, Hibbert was in at the end.

'He's giving great efforts on the offensive glass,' Vogel said. 'Efficient scoring, great extra passing. Making winning plays.'

West struggled from the field (2 for 9) but hit a key basket late and made 9 of 10 free throws.

'David has incredible will to do whatever it takes to win a game,' Vogel said.

Hibbert had 10 rebounds, West seven.

'We learned from Game 1, tried to fix our mistakes,' Hibbert said. 'We are happy to get a split.'

Bosh scored 17, but his rebounding remains disturbingly deficient. After hauling in just two boards in Game 1, Bosh closed with five, giving him 15 in five games against Indiana this season.

Haslem mustered just one point and three rebounds in 14 minutes.

Andersen again had an impact with seven points, three boards and a block, but played just 15 minutes. Because he expends so much energy, the Heat believes he would be less effective if he played more.

With Bosh and Andersen picking up three first-half fouls, Spoelstra used Anthony for a 1:43 stretch before halftime.

The Pacers sustained their edge on the boards ' they outrebounded Miami by 45 in three regular-season meetings, by five in Game 1 and by seven (39-32) in Game 2.

Power rotation players Hibbert, West and Tyler Hansbrough (who had no points and two rebounds) combined for 42 points and 19 rebounds, compared with 25 and 14 combined for Bosh, Haslem, Andersen and Battier. Meanwhile, George scored 14 of his 22 in the second half.

'Paul is going against the best player in the world in LeBron and carrying the offensive scoring load,' Vogel said. 'He gave us a huge, huge lift.'

Skelanimals: 12" Kit the Cat Back Pack (Plush) Buyer Reviews
I gave this skeleanimal backpack to my gf for her birthday and she loves it, she uses it now instead of just a purse and i believe that it was a $30 very well spent.
- Joshua Niebrzydowski "~Niebr~"

This is a pretty cool & older, so kinda rare, bag but for me this has sentimental value through the roof. However, from a more objective point of view, this bag has ample space inside, cutesy but not too childish, and lasts for at least four years in counting through day to day wear and tear.
- Sebastian J. Delarosa

I absolutely adore this backpack. I have officially replaced my purse with Kit ever since I got this pack. It's so morbid and adorable.. what's not to love. I always get second glances now when I walk by people and am always getting stopped with compliments on it.m It's very durable and is a great gift idea.
- Ruthie "Demongurl"

This backpack is really cute, (if you really like skelanimals its a bonus). The white part or the skeleton part glow in the dark, but I haven't try or remember to try it. BUT the down side is, it has very little space. So don't expect to fill it was school books. Its big enough to fit your keys, cell phone, and small wallet, (small like credit card size). I think the price isn't that bad too, (some other website that I've seen on are a little bit more pricey). Personally I'm more of a person that switch my handbags/purse/backpack to much my outfits.
- Npla Her

(Using my husbands account)Love my kit back pack. My husband gave it to me when we were just dating a couple years ago.She can't hold a whole lot, but I always get compliments when I go clubbing with it-- it holds my basics and nothing else-- otherwise it gets bulky and warped, which defeats the purpose of a cute bag.
- Pandahate

Hello I'm Jess. I just received this item today and I love it! It's just so cute and morbid at the same time and it's soft to the touch as well. As a teenage female I realized I may be a bit biased but it doesn't matter, I consider this backpack a good purchase for anyone who loves similar things. It's a bit small to use as a school bag but seriously, what girl doesn't have a cute but useless purse or more? It holds most stuff you need. 5 stars.
- J. Mcintosh "bookworm"

I absolutely love it, only draw back small pouch inside. Could've maximized spaced better to fit more, other than that no complaints. Cute that the skeleton part glows in the dark.

Baby Essentials Circle Fashion Diaper Bag, Sage Buyer Reviews

Baby Essentials Circle Fashion Diaper Bag, Sage Buyer Reviews
It is cute, however the quality is not great or good for that matter. It also says expandable, it will fit a lot, but won't zip. I wish there were more pockets for organization. It has two large ones inside, but i don't like putting everything in one place. I gladly would have paid another $20 for a better bag at babies R us!!
- Monica joy

This diaper bag is great if you want something that looks more like a purse than a "mom" diaper bag. It does have a decent amount of room inside although it would be great if it had more functional pockets. The three pockets that are for bottles hold the 2.5 oz ones just fine, but I'm not sure how they will do with larger bottles. The one pouch that is held by Velcro barely holds a few diapers but does still work. Overall I do like this bag but wish that it looked more like the picture. I was expecting khaki and brown and instead it is green and brown.
- cookinggirl

I purchased the Baby Essentials Circle Fashion Diaper Bag for my daughter that is expecting a baby girl. I ordered it on Friday and it was here on Monday...I love fast shipping!!! The bag is exactly as it is described on the site, very well made. We are very happy with my purchase.
- fairtradder101

Love the style of the bag. It doesn't look likes an ugly old diaper bag. Wish it was divided into compartments.
- sb

I just received this diaper bag in the mail. I like the way it looks and it's size. It is smaller than most of the REALLY big diaper bags out there, and that is what I was looking for. I just feel like the quality isn't great and it probably won't last real long. The plastic handles seem to be really cheap, like they will crack after a little use. But overall I think I'll keep it.
- C. Kreider

  • Changing pad included
  • Brag book included
  • Multiple pockets to organize your belongings

This fashionable satchel adds style to the everyday convenience of a diaper bag. 2 exterior pockets and multiple interior pockets to store all your baby essentials and personal needs. Includes changing pad that easily wipes clean. Bonus brag book to show off baby.

I got this for our grandson for Christmas. He was coming from AZ to GA. We got him lots of little toys and he brought them all home in this cool bag. :)
- Judy Testard "Judy Bauer"

Was the perfect purchase for my son. This backpack was more than large enough and very durable. Came right on time.
- Michael J

My 9-year old son bought this backpack with his own money. He absolutely loves it -- but after only a month or so of use, one of the zippers came loose from its track, and then a week later the other zipper came loose as well. We managed to fix one of the zippers and it held for exactly 3 days before detaching again. If you're looking for a cute, licensed backpack, this is fine, but don't expect it to be durable or last the school year.

Tumblr: Would more ads, sooner, have made a difference? - ZDNet

Summary: Tumblr is a very well designed mini publishing platform, but more ads, sooner, could have made it the Huffington Post of personal publishing.

According to the commentators ' who, it seems, only discovered Tumblr over the weekend when Yahoo's plan to bid on the service leaked' Tumblr is for cat pictures, memes of animated gifs and adult content. A slightly less bleeding edge 4chan, if you will.

That was a surprise to those of us using Tumblr for, say, hosting our websites or presenting photo-essays and curated links. Fashion brands picked up on Tumblr long before Pinterest came along. It has no higher a proportion of adult content or profanity than the web in general.

Tumblr actually is a very well designed mini publishing platform, with optional social elements. It's part-way between the pick-your-audience social blogging of Livejournal and the micro-publishing of Twitter.

Read this

The big lesson in the $1.1b Yahoo-Tumblr deal

You can create a blog, theme it into a website or annotate links with witty comments and wait for people to pass them on. It has both simple and powerful tools for publishing via the web, email or apps and plenty of ways to make your content look nothing like a Tumblr at all.

What it didn't seem to have was a hugely lucrative business model.

I first came across Tumblr (as more than a random link) when I reviewed a how-to book for getting the most from the service. I was surprised by how competent the service was, and how popular. Between 2009 and 2010, Tumblr grew from six to nine million users and 1.5 billion page views. I called it the success story no-one knew about.

To try out the tips in the book I put together a website, copying the content from our own rather dilapidated personal site (half built in NetObjects Fusion, half in hand-rolled JavaScript written in the last version of FrontPage that wasn't joined at the hip to SharePoint) into a Tumblr. I picked a theme and in half an hour I had a site that looked so much better than our existing site that we pointed our domain at it ' Tumblr has nice tools for doing that, too.

No-one could tell the site was running on Tumblr and it didn't cost us anything. If I'd chosen one of the paid themes, Tumblr would have got a share of the few dollars I paid for that, but the free themes are good enough that I didn't need to.

I set up a couple of other Tumblrs, where we can blog links to our articles and reviews, and wove them into the site structure. I added another Tumblr for fun' a Metro-style theme for collecting Metro-style designs beyond Microsoft products. Then one for collecting the interviews I used to do with science fiction writers. I kept finding new things I could do. If I wanted a comments section beyond Tumblr, I could hook up Disqus. I could add custom HTML.

The one thing I couldn't find a way to do was put ads on the page. And that's where Tumblr missed a trick, where it gave up its chance to be the Huffington Post of personal publishing.

What Tumblr could have done was to put ads on those free sites' unobtrusive but revenue generating ads. If you didn't want ads, you could have paid a fee to get the ad-free service. Or you could have accepted the ads, and filled in a profile to get relevant ads that matched your content and interests in exchange for a share of the ad revenue.

Do I trust Yahoo to do that without ruining Tumblr?

Put it this way: I'm expecting to have to move our website in about a year. Tumblr is a great service. What it needed to be was a great product with a great business model. What Yahoo needs is to prove it can have at least one of those two.

Victorinox Curb #153; Collection Park - Rust/Pewter Shopper Reviews
I like this backpack a lot. It's sleek and a nice in-between a small pouch and huge camping bags you see everywhere. I just wish the front pocket had a little more room for odd sized stuff. I find that I just throw most of my pens, business cards, computer accessories, etc jumbled all together in the front. Other than that i think it's great!

EasyCare Deluxe Stowaway Review

EasyCare Deluxe Stowaway Review
I bought this EasyCare Stowaway as a replacement for my cantle bag I used for trail riding. I wondered if all essential items would fit. It turns out everything fit very nicely into all 9 compartments. However, the weather has been so hot in northern California that I've not had the chance to take a test ride to see if the claim for "no bounce" is true. I'm pleased with the number and size of zip compartments. There is a place for all necessary trail items (from first aid kit to emergency poncho and folding water pail for my horse).
- eb2 "freetime"

Our roomiest pack ever! Made to fit most Western, English or Endurance style saddles, it comes complete with large compartments designed to hold all of your on-the-go necessities. The main center pouch is very spacious and easy to access without items falling out. Each of the side pouches can hold extra water bottles or two #2 Easyboots. The pack attaches with a nylon strap that wraps around the saddle cinch ring or billet straps and tightens down, creating a secure, no-bounce fit. The Deluxe Stowaway features:

Everest Junior Backpack (Red/Black) Reviews

Everest Junior Backpack (Red/Black) Reviews
It is a Exact mass for my desires..Only big ample for the iPad too including an superfluous sack in adjoin. Kindness it.
- Robin Warwick

It's a super cute pack and I planning it would be the exact mass for my 5 time old. However, it's a modest too tiny - it won't flush fit a ordinary folder surrounded by without bending it. And I was disappointed in how cheap the fabric feels. It believe it won't last longer than half a lecture time. But hey, it was below ten bucks.
- Jennifer Ezzo

  • Front zippered pocket for extra items
  • Convenience of a backpack in a slimmer, more compact shape
  • Great as a lunch bag

NHL playoffs: Blackhawks unravel as disciplined Red Wings win Game 3, 3-1 - SI.com

ByAllan Muir

There was a script going around before this series that had the top-ranked Chicago Blackhawks rolling over the underdog Detroit Red Wings.

Apparently Mike Babcock's crew decided that script needed a few revisions.

In Game 3 on Monday night in Detroit, the Wings asserted their physical dominance early, then got second-period goals from Gustav Nyquist and Drew Miller 31 seconds apart followed by a third-period dagger from Pavel Datsyuk for a 3-1 win that gave them an unexpected 2-1 lead in the series.

Depth was supposed to provide a clear advantage for the Blackhawks, but again it was Detroit's unheralded third and fourth lines that made things happen with their work along the boards and in front of the net. 'We've got guys whose job is to hit and provide energy,' Miller said. 'That's kind of how we play. We want to hit, and it's playoff time, so we ramp it up.'

The pounding took a toll on the Hawks, whose frustration was made apparent when they took five consecutive penalties in a nasty third period. 'We were scratching, clawing, and we were tough to play against,' said Jonathan Toews, Chicago's captain. 'We'll come back even harder in the next one. It almost takes something like this, or maybe someone to slap you in the face so to speak, to really understand what adversity is and how tough the playoffs can be.'

Clearly, it's going a lot tougher than they expected.

Some thoughts and observations from tonight's contest:

GAME 3:Recap|Boxscore|Highlights|Complete postseason schedule

' If the Red Wings end up winning this series ' a concept that seemed unimaginable just 72 hours ago ' it won't be because they have the better team. The Hawks are the more talented squad, but Detroit has been the more disciplined team and the one that's worked harder and smarter in all three zones during the last two games. And that's because Babcock is outcoaching Joel Quenneville by a mile. From matchups to face-offs to keeping his players focused, Babcock is winning every little battle.

' That was another great performance by Jimmy Howard. It's not that he stopped 39 of the 40 shots he faced, it's how he stopped them. His was a calm, measured effort without a hint of scramble tonight. And when he blocked them, he maintained complete control of his rebounds. The Hawks generated just three second-chance shots. Some nights that's a sign that a team's not battling. Tonight, it indicated that there was nothing to battle for. Expect Chicago to try to put more hard first shots into Howard's pillows on Thursday night in an effort to create more rebound chaos.

' Corey Crawford wasn't bad at the other end of the ice, but he wasn't up to Howard's standard, either. He committed too early on Nyquist's goal, allowing the young Swede to swing wide and score from a tough angle. He made a couple of stops in tight off Patrick Eaves before Miller knocked in a loose puck on the third chance. And Datsyuk's goal? Well, that was a bit of goosebump-raising magic, a lightning quick wrister that flew just under the crossbar and was back out of the net before Crawford could react. There isn't a goalie alive who would have stopped that one. Crawford hasn't been a difference-maker either way to this point. The Hawks need him to step up and steal one on Thursday.

' Speaking of guys who aren't making a difference, let's talk about Jonathan Toews. He has yet to score a goal in the playoffs (we'd be calling him 'enigmatic' if his name was Toewsov) and he has just one assist in this series. The Wings are rolling Henrik Zetterberg, Danny Cleary and Niklas Kronwall against him to great effect. Toews led Chicago with seven shots on the night, but he failed to create any high-end scoring chances with them. His best opportunity probably came as time was winding down, when he managed to land a wraparound attempt on Howard, and that one might not have counted if he'd scored because of a penalty being called on Bryan Bickell (more on him in a minute). You know the cliché. At this time of year, you need your best players to be your best players. And to this point, Toews isn't living up to his paycheck.

' There's been all manner of whining about the officiating in these playoffs. After this game, these teams might have a point. It's one thing to let the boys play ' hey, everyone likes a bit of overt nastiness at this time of year ' but Tom Kowal and Brad Watson lost control of this one early and then compounded their failings instead of slowly reeling it back in.

At first it was just the obvious roughing/crosschecking/interference type calls that they missed. Fair enough; they let both sides get away with fouls. But their decision to ignore Niklas Hjalmarsson's crosscheck to Johan Franzen's back deep in Chicago's zone led directly to Patrick Kane's goal. That's bad enough, but they made it worse by waving off an apparent tying goal for the Hawks by calling goaltender inference on Andrew Shaw even though he clearly hadn't touched Howard while battling for space out front. If it wasn't a glaring attempt at a makeup call, it sure came off that way. Whether or not it changed the end result, it tampered with the integrity of the contest. For that, we shouldn't see this pair again in the playoffs. It's that simple.

' Forget for a moment that it shouldn't have happened, but that was one sick goal from Kane. The play started with a pass that Duncan Keith cleverly lobbedover the headsof Brendan Smith (who had another rough night) and Kyle Quincey right to Kane, who had snuck behind the defenders. That he managed to tame that bouncing puck to the point where he was able to exploit a brief opening between Howard's pads was nothing short of remarkable.

' Also remarkable: an early second-period penalty kill that saw four Wings trapped on the ice for more than two minutes in their own zone without yielding a goal. Eaves was out there for 2:15 and Kronwall for 2:46, but Miller and Jonathan Ericsson were trapped for a staggering 3:15. They allowed just one shot on net while blocking four other attempts to keep the score knotted at zero. Have to think that if the Hawks had found a way to take advantage of their dead legs, this game would have played out differently. Instead, their inability to execute comes back to haunt them again.

' Didn't matter who they were up against: Michal Rozsival and Johnny Oduya were overmatched for most of the night. I'd think that Quenneville might look to split them up for Game 4, or possibly look at sitting Rozsival, to lessen the risk.

' Garbage move by Quenneville to throw Shaw and Bickell out there at the end of the game. There was still a chance for Chicago to cut into Detroit's lead, but he goes with guys who are frothing at the mouth. Bickell, who'd been running around for most of the third, was called for cross-checking Cleary repeatedly at 19:00, effectively ending any chance the Hawks had of mounting a comeback. Shaw then hopped over the boards and earned a misconduct 47 seconds later for general hooliganism. If there was a message being sent there, it wasn't that the Hawks would battle to the end. It's that the Red Wings are completely in their heads.

Becoming a model

Every day I receive requests on how to becoming a model. Things like how to get started, finding and contacting a modeling agency, and getting a first photo shoot.

How to get started:
Before you get started doing anything, you should ask yourself these questions as they will help guide you for the rest of the process.
  • What do I want to get out of modeling?
  • What am I willing to put into becoming a model
  • What kind of model do I want to be? Fashion, Runway, swimsuit, sport, etc.
  • How flexible am I for traveling and for time
